Harry and Meghan are all set to tie the knot on May 19th and I could not be more excited! So, in a bid to celebrate this Royal Wedding I’ve put together a mood board, creating my very own British-American theme with a twist.
Go on, take a look…..
COLOURS: It goes without saying that the main colours you’ll want to use are reds, navys and whites. However, as per the mood board, don’t be afraid to use slightly different shades to make your event look elegant. For example, deeper reds and burgundy will look better than brighter reds if it’s an evening event, but will also have a more autumnal vibe. Whereas brighter reds can be matched with pinks and peaches to give a more summery look.
STATIONERY: Do invest in good stationery. Whether it’s your signage, place cards or invites make sure everything is in sync. Opt for gold foiling as this always creates a regal vibe and ensure you keep things quite simple. If you’re using a lot of colours for your décor already then your stationery needs to compliment this – more neutral tones of creams and whites will work well.
FOOD & BEVERAGE: This is where things really get fun. You can tie in British favourites like Pimms and chips with more American foods like burgers and dougnuts. Your guests will surely be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining. Remember to think about the presentation of the food too.
ENTERTAINMENT: If it’s summer time then you can lay out some classic British garden lawn games, whereas if it’s winter time then focus on an over the top American-style photobooth. Music wise you’re going to be absolutely spoilt for choice. Do you opt for American Jazz, classic British pop or perhaps a blend of the two?
