Letting someone else
take charge of
your big day can
But sometimes, even the best of
us can use a little extra help.
You’re the type of person who appreciates good style when you see it. You know you want to steer clear of those run off the mill weddings that offer nothing new or personal, but at the same time can’t justify throwing away your hard-earned cash unnecessarily. You want something great, you just don’t know where to start.
Well, you’ve landed in the right place!
I’m Meera, Founder, Wedding Planner,
and Coordinator here at Carriages Weddings & Events.
I have a super flexible approach and a love for serving busy couples who don’t have the time, energy or expertise to plan the amazing wedding they truly deserve. I live for creating beautiful, meaningful wedding experiences, which showcase each couple’s beautiful love story. No two couples are ever the same, which is why I believe no two weddings should be either.
Growing up in a typical Hum Aapke Hain Kaun-style family set up (if you’ve not seen this multi-award-winning Bollywood film, it’s a must! But, we’re getting slightly off track here…) meant that over the years, I’ve attended and been a part of a lot of family weddings! But it’s not just weddings. Oh no, we like to celebrate everything in our household. To this day, a quiet Saturday night in consists of cooking for 20 people. Large-scale dinners, parties, and spontaneous events have just become like second nature. Truth is, I’ve spent my whole life helping to organise events, without even knowing it!
So, at the age of 16, I decided to undertake some formal work experience with one of the UK’s first Asian wedding planning companies to get an understanding of what the job involved – and to see if I could hack it. Not only could I hack it, but I genuinely fell in love with it. Anyway, super long story short, and 11 years later, I stepped into my very own office as Wedding Planner-In-Chief.
For me, knowing that I get to be an extended part of someone else’s family for a day, month or year, brings back that warm and fuzzy feeling I used to get from attending family weddings as a child. Sure, I now come armed with a phone, clipboard, walkie-talkie and fully-fledged wedding emergency kit on site, but the sentiments remain the same.
From intimate ceremonies to large crowds above 1,000 people, I’ve managed them all. I’m obsessed with making the wedding planning process easy and stress-free for my clients, so much so, that it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for your phone to ping within seconds of you shooting me a message across. What can I say?… I hate to leave people hanging! But on a serious note, if you’re ready to start planning your wedding, I’d love to lend a helping hand.
Grateful you’re here,
