Wedding planning is a journey that you’re not going to forget any time soon. However, with all the stresses of making your big day perfect it’s not uncommon for couples to sometimes unintentionally sideline some quality one-on-one time together. While I understand it can be difficult to juggle everything at once, it’s also important to shower your other half with plenty of love and affection, reminding them about why you’re taking the leap and getting married in the first place.
So calling all grooms; if you’re struggling for ideas on how to spoil your other half here are a few suggestions you can take inspiration from:
1. Pamper Day
Everyone loves a massage. It’s perfect for relieving yourself of those everyday stresses. You can book in for two and make a special day of it. Can’t afford a lush spa? Well, that’s totally fine. You can make it personal by staying in, lighting some candles and treating your other half to some old school romance.
Not a fan of over the top romance? That’s okay. Sometimes all women really want is to put on a pair of joggers and binge watch their favourite television show. Order in her favourite pizza, be sure to stock the frezeer with some ice cream and you’ve got yourself the perfect date night. Just be sure to let her pick whatever you decide to watch!
3. Get Physical
Keep it clean people. I’m talking about heading out and perhaps going for a bike ride, going swimming, playing your favourite sport or simply working out at the gym. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re spending some quality time together and of course, if you happen to be exercising then it means you’ll get a rush of endorphins, which means your bride will be feeling relaxed and happy, not worrying about any wedding day drama.
4. Call The Girls Round
While this post is really about things you can do as a couple, if you notice that she’s not been able to spend much time with her girl gang of late then why not call them round? Sometimes some girly gossip and advice is the best way to get rid of any wedding planning stresses. Be the perfect host by greeting the ladies on their way in, order in some takeaway and then slowly slip away.
5. Surprise Her With A Gift
Of course presents are always a win! You don’t need a special occasion to buy her flowers, chocolates or that piece of jewellery she’s been eying up. Sometimes the best gifts are the spontaneous ones. If you find she’s really bogged down with wedding planning then perhaps purchase the best gift of all – your very own wedding planner! She’ll see you’re the kind of guy who always puts her needs first and she’ll love you even more for it.
There’s something about a guy who knows his way around the kitchen, so even if you have just one signature dish (pasta does count) then invite her over for a home cooked meal. Have a catch up of the day, week or month and show her the kind of sweet and caring person she is marrying. Sometimes that’s all you need to put things into perspective.
