If you’re getting married soon then you’ll probably be flying high on cloud nine. Knowing you’re going to be spending the rest of your life with the one you love is one of the best feelings ever! But, it’s also a slightly emotional time as life will no longer be the same again. That’s not to say things are changing for the worse, it’s just that they will be changing. So, before you embark on your new life as Mr & Mrs here are a few things you can do with your respective families to feel the love.
1. Family Photo Shoot
It really depends on what kind of family you are, but it would be nice to have a few digital memories of you and your family. You can either get all glammed up and have a professional shoot at a studio, or simply head out if it’s nice weather and have a photographer take some natural shots. If you don’t want anyone getting in the way, then simply purchase a Polaroid and take some fun snaps yourself.
2. Ready, Steady, Cook
Mark out a date in the diary for a family cook-a-thon. If you’re getting married then there’s no harm in learning a few recipes to impress your other half right? If you have a large extended family then invite them round too and maybe turn it into a bring-a-dish- party. There’s nothing better than sharing meal times with the ones you love – it’s a tried and tested recipe for a great night.
3. Wedding Planning
Whether you need to pack some gifts, wrap the favours or write the invites, get the family together, blast some wedding songs and enjoy the experience. Some nibbles, champers and cake will turn it into a full on party if that’s more your style. Either way, just know that wedding planning with the family can be fun, all you need to do is create the right atmosphere.
4. Movie Night
You’ll need plenty of popcorn ready for this one along side a plate full of nachos. Watching old home videos is the most entertaining pass time ever. You’ll giggle and laugh out loud with your parents and siblings as you go through a stack of old videos from your yesteryears. Just be sure to dig out an old player or find a way to watch them on your television (you’ll find instructions on YouTube).
5. Arrange A Mini Break
Whether it’s a day out at a theme park or a mini getaway on the Eurostar, it’s always great to create some new memories with the family in a relaxed environment away from the pressures of wedding planning. Get a date in the diary and then book something the whole family will enjoy.
