5 Things You Can Learn From Sonam Kapoor & Anand Ahuja’s Wedding!

If you’ve been anywhere near social media in the last 72 hours, then you will certainly have seen some of the many pictures and videos circulating of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding. The pictures themselves are enough to see that when it came to the décor, clothes or even the drinks, the Kapoor family ensured everything was on point.

For those of you getting married in the next few weeks or even the next few months, here are a few things you can take away from the couple of the moment for your very own special day.

1. Don’t be a diva
While it’s fair to have your way when it comes to most things, there is such a thing as being too much of a diva. As a prime example of Sonam’s laid back nature we saw her wear the same colours as everyone else for her mehendi party. She was happy to blend in with the rest because HELLO, she was the bride. She understood that all eyes were going to be on her regardless and she didn’t need to make a huge deal about anyone else wearing a similar outfit.

2. Don’t take yourself too seriously
Both the groom and the bride’s sister were seen wearing trainers with their outfits, because let’s face it – sometimes comfort really does trump fashion. What’s more, even though the couple opted for a lavish multi-tiered cake from LE 15 for their reception party, the cake they cut after their Anand Karaj was a little more low key and fun; their cake topper saw a bride dragging the groom away from a basketball court!

3. Don’t ask everyone to put their phones away
With the wedding being so high profile, I would completely understand if the couple had asked for some extra privacy. However, these two were more than happy for their guests to take videos, post selfies and even go on Facebook live during the event. Chilled out or what!

4. Don’t expect to be the centre of the universe for the whole day
Okay, I know it’s your special day and by default you will be at the centre of everything. However, it’s completely fine for you to not be centre stage at all times for every single celebration. For example, Sonam and Anand were completely at ease letting their guests take the limelight…. Errm…we’ve all seen the videos of Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

5. Don’t be someone you’re not
This should really go without saying. But the more relaxed you are, the better you will feel and the more fun you will have on your big day. Sonam and Anand looked completely at ease with each other and with their family and friends because they were simply themselves. Not to mention, Sonam even changed her reception outfit half way through the night so she could kick back and enjoy the celebrations – proving she is just like any other girl at heart.
